Time and attendance
systems are the 21st century equivalent of the paper time sheet. All
businesses and organisations, no matter how big or small, need to keep
track of their employees’ time and attendance.
Working in conjunction
with RFID tags and readers, TimemaX acts as a comprehensive employee
database as well as a time-tracking system. This type of software
automates day-to-day tasks such as tracking work hours and calculating
benefits accrued, providing valuable information and making your business
more efficient.
With TimemaX, you
don’t just track when employees log in and out, but you also proactively
manage your workforce. Critical decisions such as implementing elaborate
scheduling rules, shift patterns, understanding workforce productivity,
and forecasting HR needs into new business areas cannot be made without
basic labour management analysis.
The TimemaX RFID
system is elegant in its simplicity. Readers and antennas are placed
strategically around the workplace. This could be at the main entry and
exit points of the workplace, or if a construction site, throughout the
site at the different ‘zones’, therefore providing the ability and
security to track the employees’ movements throughout the day (or night).
The employee is issued with a tag which is worn around the neck (in the
office) or in the safety helmet (onsite). Each tag has a unique number,
which is recorded in the TimemaX database against the employee. As the
employee passes by the reader, the reader picks up the signal from the tag
and sends the information back to the main database. The collected data
can then be analysed and timesheets and custom reports produced.
Arrival and
departure times are captured by the readers. Masses of workers can walk
through the gates at one time – no more queues at the clocking station.
Using RFID tags and
the TimemaX system avoids "buddy punching", where employees log in for
each other. In addition, supervisors can set rules for scheduling workers,
including setting break times, holidays, and even whether overtime is
allowable. With TimemaX, you can also track tardiness and patterns of
absenteeism.

TimemaX
uses the power of Microsoft's SQL Server®, taking advantage of SQL's
inherent security, flexibility, and robust reporting capabilities,
allowing managers to make exception-based, real-time decisions regarding
their workforce. Each and every employee transaction is written
immediately to the SQL database, and that information is available to
managers, supervisors, charge hands and team leaders, on demand, up to
the second. Thus, the use of age-old punch devices or swipe cards placed
throughout a place of work is left as an antiquated practice of the
past.
