For
example, a simple set of activities and duration times may be applied
to planned orders for bulk materials whereas a more comprehensive set
of activities with different durations can be applied to orders for
major engineered equipment.
As
the project progresses, the procurement plan can be used as a central
focus for weekly progress and onward planning assessments.
The
ProcuremaX facilities can also provide early warning of any
delays and, on very large projects, the analysis of data enables
assessments to be made regarding the most effective manpower resource
allocations for the various work activities.
Updating
the system with “actual” dates can be minimised where automated
links can be identified with standard ProcuremaX events such
as: order placement, first / last goods receipt etc.
In
addition, the database provides the capability to interface with any
project planning software including, but not limited to, Primavera,
Open Plan and Artemis. The required onsite dates can be acquired from
the latest revision of the project construction plan and the main
construction plan can be supplied with the latest forecasted on-site
dates.
The status of
purchase orders at a selected period of time can be displayed. This
inquiry displays purchase orders with a forecasted status based on
pre-defined dates and the actual status of the order.
The required
parameters are input into a selection screen, that produces a graph of
planned and actual dates for selected milestones over a forty-week
period. Values for the graph labels are also input for the selected
milestones, these values are retained to reduce future input.
As well as
identifying the status of the selected items, the information can
assist in the allocation of resources, with the graph identifying when
material will/should be available
